Andy Serkis Talks ‪DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES; First Look At May 8 Trailer

Andy Serkis recently visited Europe to talk ‪DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES‬. Watch this video from his stop in France where he speaks to the emotions of director Matt Reeves’ upcoming film and how this popular franchise has endured over the decades with moviegoers around the world.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Oscar-winning visual effects house WETA Digital – employing a new generation of the cutting edge performance capture technologies developed for Rise of the Apes and Avatar – will again render photo-realistic, emotionally-engaging apes. The film’s key behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Michael Seresin, production designer James Chinland, and VFX Supervisors Joe Letteri and Dan Lemmon, VFX producers Ryan Stafford, editor Bill Hoy and Stan Salfas, and costume designer Melissa Brunning. The score is from the Academy Award winning composer Michael Giacchino (UP).

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is written by Mark Bomback and returning writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.

Starring Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo, Karin Konoval, and Judy Greer, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES will be in theaters July 11.
