REPO MEN Goes Redband

A film set in the future where organ donation has gone corporate and, should you relapse on your payments, hired assassins/surgeons come out of the the dark to rip you open and steal your inner workings.   Sounds awfully familiar, since REPO: THE GENETIC OPERA hit a limited number of theaters and Blu-Ray/DVD shelves last year.

However, this premise also falls to REPO MEN, a film that boasts a lot more in terms of budget and a lot less in terms of Gothic arias.   Nevertheless, judging from the redband trailer released today, courtesy of MySpace’s Trailer Park, the newer version of this story is just as gruesome and bloody as anything Bousman could put to film.

Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, and Liev Schrieber all rock, and it looks like the makers behind this, particularly Miguel Sapochnik making his feature film debut, are going all out with the blood and violence.   Looks like it could be fairly forgettable, and, for the most part, everyone is playing their respective parts exactly as you might expect.   Regardless, it could end up surprising and have a lot more going for it than whacked out gore and solid performances.
