Lionsgate launched the HUNGER GAMES INSTAGRAM account last week with a four day tease for fans leading up to this morning’s debut.

The first official poster for the film follows the release of the Motion Logo debut last November and the Capitol Propaganda Victory Tour Posters and Capitol Portraits from earlier this year.

Today’s poster of Katniss Everdeen includes a tagline pulled straight from the incredible words of Suzanne Collins – ” The sun persists on rising, so I make myself stand. ”

Lionsgate is also encouraging fans to design and illustrate the first chapter of ‘Catching Fire’ for the chance to see their work featured on The Hunger Games’ official Facebook page! Fans can incorporate photos, drawings, GIFs & video to create an eye-popping multimedia experience inspired by the words of the book. THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark.  Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts.  Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE will be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.

“Don’t Let Go.” I’ve been looking forward to this movie ever since Warner Bros. added it to their 2013 lineup. Today, the studio released the first poster for GRAVITY. Directed by Oscar nominee Alfonso Cuarón (“Children of Men”), the movie stars Academy Award® winners Sandra Bullock (“The Blind Side,” “The Proposal”) and George Clooney (“Up in the Air,” “Syriana”).

Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone – tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.

The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.

But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space. GRAVITY will be a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space.

GRAVITY was written by Alfonso Cuarón & Jonás Cuarón. Alfonso Cuarón and David Heyman (the “Harry Potter” films) are the film’s producers. Stephen Jones (“Knowing”) served as executive producer with Nikki Penny (“Clash of the Titans”) coproducing.

The behind-the-scenes team includes multiple Oscar®-nominated cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (“Children of Men,” “The New World”), production designer Andy Nicholson (supervising art director “Alice in Wonderland”), editor Mark Sanger (VFX editor “Alice in Wonderland”), and costume designer Jany Temime (the “Harry Potter” films). Henry Cavill is Superman in this new poster for the upcoming film MAN OF STEEL.

Now I’m all excited over Warner Bros. Pictures’ film, but in reality, there will only ever be one son of Krypton, Christopher Reeve.  As with all the others, Cavill has a big cape to fill.

In the MAN OF STEEL, a young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott and the Enterprise‘s navigator, ensign Pavel Chekov, finally get their due with their own character posters for STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS. After seeing (and geeking out over) the ones for Kirk, Spock, Uhura as well as the film’s villain, I was beginning to think these two had gotten lost in the shuffle. THOR: THE DARK WORLD releases in theaters on November 8, 2013!

Disney•Pixar’s “Monsters University” welcomes some of Hollywood’s top stars to its roster of voice talent for this summer’s frighteningly funny comedy adventure, opening in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013.

Joining Billy Crystal and John Goodman are Steve Buscemi, Helen Mirren, Alfred Molina, Dave Foley, Sean P. Hayes, Joel Murray, Peter Sohn, Charlie Day, Nathan Fillion, Bobby Moynihan, Julia Sweeney, Aubrey Plaza, Tyler Labine, John Krasinski, Bonnie Hunt, Beth Behrs and John Ratzenberger.

Also revealed this week were the story and screenplay credits. Directed by Dan Scanlon, “Monsters University” features a story and screenplay by Daniel Gerson & Robert L. Baird (“Monsters, Inc.”) and Scanlon.

Scanlon says the cast was able to bring the story to life with great ingenuity and enthusiasm. “Working with this group of actors was an extraordinary experience. They each brought a unique level of humor, emotion and creativity to their work that not only complemented their individual performances, but made the overall story come together in a really wonderful way.”

CLAIRE WHEELER, GREEK COUNCIL PRESIDENT (voice of Aubrey Plaza)

Claire Wheeler is the Greek Council president at Monsters University, and this year she is one of the chosen emcees for the school’s annual Scare Games. Don’t be fooled by Claire’s brooding exterior and monotone drawl—banal in appearance, on the inside she is a galvanizing force of school spirit who diligently warns the Scare Game participants of the dangers they will face.

BROCK PEARSON, GREEK COUNCIL VICE PRESIDENT (voice of Tyler Labine)

This preppy-looking fraternity monster has been chosen to assist the Greek Council president in emceeing the school’s annual Scare Games. Jock-like and what some might refer to as a “meathead,” Brock is a loud, enthusiastic emcee who relishes the danger of the Scare Games’ challenges.

OOZMA KAPPA (OK)

A collection of wholesome, good-natured misfits, the adorable brothers of Oozma Kappa (OK) have bonded over their inability to make it through the Scaring Program. With only four bodies in the house, they don’t even have enough members to compete in the Scare Games. What they lack in Scariness and self-confidence, they make up for in heart.

ROAR OMEGA ROAR (RΩR)

The Roar Omega Roar (RΩR) fraternity is made up of the best of the best. They’re the smartest, most skilled, Scariest monsters at Monsters University, and come from families with a long, proud history of Scaring. While the RΩRs may be preppy in dress, they are ferocious in action and downright ruthless, if necessary. Self-declared as the most elite house on campus, the RΩRs are lead by Johnny Worthington who presides over the house like an all-powerful monarch. Eager to continue their Scare Games winning streak, the RΩRs will do whatever it takes to stay on top.

PYTHON NU KAPPA (PNK)

Pretty in pink, the sisters of Python Nu Kappa (PNK) are not to be underestimated. Led by their fearless queen bee Carrie, these ladies are smart, cold-hearted and merciless. Covered in pink from head to toe, the PNKs sweet exterior quickly turns terrifying when the Scare Games begin.

JAWS THETA CHI (JOX)

Big on brawn but short on brainpower, the Jaws Theta Chi (JOX) fraternity brothers are rarely seen without their flashy letterman jackets. The JOX are brutal competitors who never hesitate to do whatever it takes to beat their opponent, even if it’s breaking the rules. Despite practically living at the gym or on the field, these sports-loving monsters often prove that bigger doesn’t always mean better when it comes to Scaring.

SLUGMA SLUGMA KAPPA (EEK)

The athletic sisters of Slugma Slugma Kappa (EEK) spend most of their days working out and running drills to perfect their Scaring skills. Their initiation is a triathlon, and training together 24/7 has strengthened the bonds of sisterhood so much so that these strong, self-assured girls are ready to out-work and out-scare any monster they encounter together.

ETA HISS HISS (HSS)

The Eta Hiss Hiss (HSS) sorority has been around since the beginning of Monsters University and the members are as mysterious as they are terrifying. The HSS sisters might be pale, mysterious and sullen, but these intimidating Goth girls are fierce competitors and tough as nails. Fittingly, their most distinguished alumna is one of the most powerful, Scary monsters on campus who every new Scare student strives to impress—Dean Hardscrabble.

MIKE WAZOWSKI (voice of Billy Crystal)

Mike Wazowski’s lifelong dream is to become a Scarer at Monsters, Inc.—and he’s sure he knows just how to do it. Ever since he was a young monster, Mike’s had his eye on Monsters University, home of the world’s top Scare Program. Now a freshman and hopeful Scare student, he’s well versed in the rich history, theory and technique required to reach his goal, and the little green one-eyed monster has more confidence, enthusiasm, determination and heart than all of his classmates combined. But unexpected roadblocks derail Mike’s plans and he’s forced to team up with a group of misfit monsters and an unlikely ally to give it the old college try and pull off the biggest coup in the University’s history.

Faced with the realities of the economic downturn, Midwestern sales monster Don Carlton finds himself going back to school to learn new skills and pursue a dream career in Scaring. One of Monsters University’s “mature” students and a founding member of the Oozma Kappa fraternity, Don brings his honest hardworking spirit to their endeavors, ensuring that his fellow brothers keep their various heads on straight and their array of eyes on the task at hands.

Scott Squibbles gives new meaning to the term “undeclared.” A sophomore whose dream of becoming a Scarer was squashed in his first year at Monsters University, “Squishy” is a bit of a wide-eyed wanderer—small, sweet, naïve and quiet—who, not surprisingly, still lives with his doting mother. But with a little help from his Oozma Kappa brothers, Squishy begins to realize he’s more than just that shy monster in the corner.

ART (voice of Charlie Day)

The ultimate free spirit, Art is a mysterious monster with a questionable background. By far the strangest member of the Oozma Kappas, Art bowls over the competition—sometimes literally—with his unique dexterity and wild-card ways. Nothing is scarier than the unpredictable, especially when it comes to this furry ball of bad.

TERRI & TERRY PERRY (voices of Dave Foley & Sean Hayes)

When it comes to Terri and Terry, it’s hard not to ask, “Are two heads really better than one?”  These bickering brothers have little in common: Terri with an “i” is a real romantic who’s quick to spot the silver lining in any situation, while older brother Terry with a “y” sports a more cynical outlook on life. If they can stop squabbling long enough to work with their Oozma Kappa brothers—they might be able to put their heads together—literally—and find their place in Monsters University’s Scare Program once and for all.

DEAN HARDSCRABBLE (voice of Helen Mirren)

To Dean Hardscrabble, there are scary monsters and there are all other monsters. It’s no surprise she feels this way—she is, after all, a legendary Scarer and Dean of the School of Scaring at Monsters University. Aspiring Scare students must be up for the challenge to impress her, though she is convinced that her assessment of who is truly scary and who is not is never wrong.

PROFESSOR KNIGHT (voice of Alfred Molina)

Professor Knight teaches Scaring 101, the introductory course to Scaring at Monsters University. With hundreds of new Scare students each year, Professor Knight must weed out the weak from the talented and identify who shows the most potential to be real Scarers. Only a few have what it takes to pass the formidable final exam and move on to the elite Scaring Program.

Film District has unveiled its first poster at CinemaCon for Spike Lee’s upcoming film OLDBOY. CinemaCon is the largest gathering of cinema owners and operators from around the world. The 3rd annual Con begins today and finishes April 18th in Las Vegas.

OLDBOY is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

Co-starring Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley, OLDBOY was directed by Spike Lee, from a script by Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, The Cell, Thor). The film was produced by Roy Lee, Doug Davison and Nathan Kahane.

After rolling out 10 minutes of footage, as well as the trailer, for the LA press earlier today, Sony Pictures has unveiled this first ELYSIUM poster - the new movie by District 9 director Neil Blomkamp. Sony Pictures Entertainment today unveiled a first look at writer-director Neill Blomkamp’s new film ELYSIUM by bringing it directly to the fans in anticipation of the launch of the film’s first trailer online tomorrow. With Matt Damon in Berlin and Neill Blomkamp, producer Simon Kinberg, and Sharlto Copley in Los Angeles, the ELYSIUM team came together via satellite to answer questions and show fans the trailer as well as an extended sneak preview of the film. Zombie Mountain. Yikes! Better have your apocalypse survival guide ready as you check out the new poster and trailer for Paramount Pictures’ WORLD WAR Z. Starring Academy Award-nominee Brad Pitt, with Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) directing, the story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop a pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

Snakes On A Plane becomes Zombies On A Plane – where’s Samuel L. Jackson when you need him? Those faithful purists of the source material, Max Brooks’ best-selling novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, already have a problem with the film. The reason? The book, told by survivors, is set after the fact while the film is set pre-war. We’ll see how the film is received, especially at the box office, when it’s released in June.
