Destroy the Brain‘s monthly ‘Late Nite Grindhouse’ film series is back in a new location! Head to the Marcus Des Peres Cinema (12701 Manchester Rd, Des Peres, MO 63131) this Friday and Saturday (October 11th and 12th) at 10pm for Tobe Hooper’s THE FUNHOUSE. Since this is a Marcus Theater, you’ll need to reserve your seats ahead of time HERE. There may (or may not be) Tickets available the nights of the screenings, but they may be going fast! Looking for cheap thrills, four teenagers decide to stay overnight in a sleazy traveling carnival fun-house. While engaging in the standard teenage antics of getting high, making out and showing off, they witness one of the carnival workers, wearing a ‘Frankenstein mask, murder one of his co-workers, ”Madame Zelda” (the late Sylvia Miles). They are subsequently stalked by ”Frankenstein” who is later revealed to be a deformed Albino! THE FUNHOUSE, from Tobe Hooper (seven years after he directed THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE) is an scary horror gem and an obvious influence on Rob Zombie’s design for HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES.
