Throwback Thursday – The Top Ten Lines from THE TERMINATOR Franchise

The gang at We Are Movie Geeks is so excited for THE TERMINATOR GENISYS, which opens everywhere next Wednesday July 1st. We’re so excited in fact, that we can’t stop reciting lines from the first four Terminator films. Just this morning, as my wife was leaving for work, I said “Hasta La Vista, Baby”. She smiled sweetly. And when I was talking on the phone to my mom the other day, I said “You’re terminated, f**ker!” She hung up on me. Anyway, we’ve assembled our top ten favorite lines from the Terminator franchise. Perhaps THE TERMINATOR GENISYS will have a few zingers in it as well. We’ll let you know next week when we post our review here at We Are Movie Geeks.

10. “Put down your weapon. And the coffin!” – This is of course from the epic graveyard shootout in TERMINATOR 3 – RISE OF THE MACHINES

9. “I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle!” – From TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY – it’s more a demand than a request.

8. “Come with me if you want to live!” – said by Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) in the first THE TERMINATOR. It was such a great line, Arnold said it again in TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY

7. “Talk to the Hand” – another great moment from TERMINATOR 3 – RISE OF THE MACHINES. See for yourself:

6. “He’ll Live!” – the Terminator has promised not to kill anybody, but to get into the hospital he shoots the guard in the legs, from TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY

5. “Your levity is good, it relieves tension and the fear of death.” – sometimes I think TERMINATOR 3 – RISE OF THE MACHINES has as many great lines as the first two!

4. “You’re terminated, fu**ker!” – Sarah Conner’s (Linda Hamilton) sendoff to the big guy in the original THE TERMINATOR (a version of the line – without the vulgarity – was said by Arnold in TERMINATOR 3 – RISE OF THE MACHINES

3. “I want you off the F**king set you prick! Do I f**king knock your light lights down!? Then why the f**k are you walking right through!?! What don’t you f**king understand?!” – Okay, this isn’t technically a line from any Terminator movie but it is what Christian Bale screamed while throwing his infamous tantrum on the set of TERMINATOR SALVATION.  We Are Movie Geeks could not think of any actual lines from TERMINATOR SALVATION worthy of this list.

2. “Hasta la vista, baby!” – Arnold and Edward Furlong both uttered this in TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY – probably the greatest Spanish language line in the history of cinema.

1. “I’ll be back!” – A no-brainer – Arnold’s signature line is so popular, he’s used it in other movies that aren’t even part of the Terminator franchise!
