DreamWorks Animation’s HOME Brings In $54 Million At Weekend Box Office

HOME was number at the box office this weekend with an estimated $54 million. The PG animated family movie stars Jim Parsons, Rihanna, Steve Martin and Jennifer Lopez.

Rentrak’s Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian commented, “There’s no place like ‘Home’ when it comes to this weekend’s box office as the DreamWorks Animation release distributed by Fox added $78 million globally, topping the international chart & leading the charge in its first weekend in North America for a combined worldwide total to date of $102 million. Another PG-rated movie marked a milestone as Disney’s hit live-action fairytale ‘Cinderella’ crossed the $300 million threshold this weekend with an impressive total to date of $336.2 million.”

20th Century Fox’s KINGSMAN: SECRET SERVICE also crossed the $300 million mark with $328.4 million.

Warner Bros. Pictures comedy GET HARD, starring Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell, brought in an estimated $34.6 million and took the number two spot at the box office.

IT FOLLOWS from Radius/TWC took in $4.0 million domestically. Combined with international estimates, the horror film stands at $7.75 million worldwide.

The upcoming 3-day, Easter weekend brings FURIOUS 7 and WOMAN IN GOLD.
