SPONGEBOB Movie No. 1 At This Weekend’s Box Office

SPONGEBOB: SPONGE OUT OF WATER was number one at this weekend’s box office with an estimated $56 million.

JUPITER ASCENDING and SEVENTH SON had less than stellar numbers, as well as reviews. Estimates have the science fiction action adventure from filmmakers Lana and Andy Wachowski at $19 million from 3,181 locations, while Universal Pictures’ fantasy brought in $7.1 million.

AMERICAN SNIPER is now 2nd place on the all-time, R-rated chart. The Bradley Cooper drama now stands at an estimated $316.2 million worldwide.
