Christophe Beck To Score Marvel Studios’ ANT-MAN; Marco Beltrami Signs On For THE FANTASTIC FOUR Score
Film Music Reporter has news of two upcoming, high-profile scores and their composers.
Marco Beltrami will write the music for THE FANTASTIC FOUR reboot, while Christophe Beck will compose the score for Marvel’s ANT-MAN.
Christophe Beck is behind the score to the Golden Globe- and Oscar-winning film FROZEN. The FROZEN soundtrack, certified platinum 11 weeks after its release, has sold more than one million copies, and spent five non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Beck returned to the Muppets in MUPPETS MOST WANTED after scoring THE MUPPETS in 2011. He’s also scored the blockbuster HANGOVER trilogy, TOWER HEIST, DUE DATE, DATE NIGHT and PITCH PERFECT. He staged the drama for such films as WE ARE MARSHALL, PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF, ELEKTRA, THE SENTINEL, UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN, and indie films YEAR OF THE DOG, PHOEBE IN WONDERLAND, SAVED! and the award-winning documentary WAITING FOR SUPERMAN.
In addition to FROZEN – which earned Beck an Annie Award for best score – his other works includes THE INTERNSHIP, directed by Shawn Levy and starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, and RUNNER RUNNER, directed by Brad Furman and starring Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake.
Beck also composed the music for ENDLESS LOVE, CAKE, GOOD KILL, RED ARMY, LET’S BE COPS and ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY as well as the upcoming scores for HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2 and PEANUTS.

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ ANT-MAN when master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats.
Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige, the film stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “Ti” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale, Jordi Mollà as Castillo and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.
With a story by Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish and screenplay by Adam McKay & Paul Rudd, ANT-MAN opens in theaters on on July 17, 2015.
20th Century Fox will release THE FANTASTIC FOUR on August 7, 2015. From director Josh Trank (CHRONICLE), the reboot stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell and Tim Blake Nelson.
Four young outsiders teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Beltrami is a two-time Oscar nominee (The Hurt Locker & 3:10 to Yuma). He’s had five films release in 2014, including THE HOMESMAN, SNOWPIERCER, THE NOVEMBER MAN, THE GIVER and THE DROP. Beltrami was recognized with the Distinguished Film Composer Award at the Middleburg Film Festival and was also nominated for Composer of the Year at the 2014 World Soundtrack Awards. He has scored numerous action-packed blockbusters, including WORLD WAR Z, HELLBOY, and THE WOLVERINE, as well as dramas, such as TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE and THE SESSIONS.
His upcoming projects include TRUE STORY, SEVENTH SON, THE COUP, HITMAN: AGENT 47 and THE GUNMAN.
