The 2014 Annual Razzie Awards

With all the hoopla about the big Sunday night movie award show, many of you might not have gotten the list of the big winners from Saturday night’s big movie awards show. I’m talking about the 34th Annual Razzie Awards. They were started in 1980 by John Wilson to celebrate the movie year’s worst achievements. The hour-long ceremony was held this past Saturday evening down the street from the site of Sunday’s big show. Without further ado, here’s the nominees and winners for the 2013 film year:

WORST SCREENPLAY:

AFTER EARTH, THE LONE RANGER, GROWN UPS 2, A MADEA CHRISTMAS, and the winner…MOVIE 43 (credited to 28 different writers according to IMDB!)

WORST REMAKE, RIP-OFF, OR SEQUEL:

GROWN UPS 2, THE HANGOVER III, SCARY MOVIE 5, SMURFS 2, and the winner…THE LONE RANGER

WORST DIRECTOR:

Dennis Dugan for GROWN UPS 2, M. Quite a few surprise this year since past multiple Razzie winners Adam Sandler (2) and M. Night Shyamalan (2) were shut out . Well, there’s nearly ten months left in 2014!
