Exciting International STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Trailer Lands; Win A Film Costume Thru STAR TREK Movie App
In this heart-pounding and explosive international trailer for J.J. Abrams STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, Kirk, Spock and the Federation are taking it to the rack when one of their top agents strikes at the heart of Star Fleet. Prepare for some dark stardates ahead.
Finally we get a look at “Admiral” Peter Weller (aka Robocop). This isn’t the actor’s first appearance in the Trek universe. In 2005, Weller appeared on tv’s ‘Star Trek: Enterprise’ as “John Frederick Paxton” in the series’ two parter “Demons” and “Terra Prime”.
Benedict Cumberbatch’s role is becoming more intriguing – and wrecking more havoc – with each new preview from Paramount Pictures. In less than two months, we’ll find out if “John Harrison” joins the pantheon of series creator Gene Roddenberry’s iconic characters (Khan perhaps?) or becomes a new villain in writers Roberto Orci’s (STAR TREK, tv’s “Fringe”), Alex Kurtzman’s (STAR TREK, tv’s “Fringe”) and Damon Lindelof’s (PROMETHEUS, tv’s “Lost”) sequel.
In Summer 2013, director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS.
In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice.
As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
J.J. Abrams is producing STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS with Bryan Burk through Bad Robot Productions, along with Lindelof, Kurtzman and Orci. Jeffrey Chernov and Skydance Productions’ David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake are the executive producers. STAR TREK composer and Oscar-winner Michael Giacchino is once again creating the score.
The film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Alice Eve, with Bruce Greenwood and Peter Weller.
STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS opens in select theaters in IMAX 3D on May 15th and theaters everywhere May 17, 2013.
