Win Passes To The Advance Screening Of SLEEPWALK WITH ME In St. Louis

By  |  36 Comments

Winner of a 2012 Audience Award at Sundance, comedian Mike Birbiglia wrote, directed and stars in this sincere and hilarious film, based on his off-Broadway show and bestselling book. It’s also the first movie co-written by Ira Glass and co-produced by “This American Life.” The story: when an aspiring stand-up fails to express his true feelings about his girlfriend and his stalled career, his anxiety comes out in increasingly funny and dangerous sleepwalking incidents.

SLEEPWALK WITH ME features Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under”), Carol Kane (“Taxi”), James Rebhorn (“Meet the Parents”), Cristin Milioti (star of Broadway’s “Once”), plus comedians Marc Maron, Kristen Schaal, Wyatt Cenac, Jesse Klein, Henry Phillips and David Wain.

“A funny and insightful movie. I could have watched it for ten hours.”
- Judd Apatow

I woke up in my backyard, swatting a non-existent swarm of wasps. It was a weird awakening.

I was awakened by my parents as I was sleep walking opening the front door. It was the middle of the night and I was about 8 years old.

I woke up in our spare bedroom on the futon once as a result of sleepwalking. I’ve been told by my wife a couple times I’ve woken her up sleepwalking but I always wake up in bed, except for the futon incident.

Yes, my parents closet as a kid. I think I thought it was the bathroom as my mom tells me I was searching for the light switch.

As far as I know, I never sleepwalked. I sleeptalk sometimes according a rather unreliable source. When we were young, my brother sleepwalked. We were curled up on seats sleeping on the last car of a train headed to California and the conductor was sitting in the back of the car luckily. My brother, age 7 or 8 at the time, was heading right for the rear door and the tracks when the conductor stopped him. Just to show our age, this was way pre-Amtrak. We have several generations of sleepwalkers from my maternal side.

One time when I was a kid, we were watching The Mummy. I fell asleep during the movie. Aparently I started sleep walking when the mummy was walking around. I woke up in the middle of the living room to my sister screaming.

I awoke in my kitchen, holding a camping spork that I was using to cut a tomato. Based on my sleep-talking to my girlfriend (who walked out to the kitchen to see what the commotion was all about) I had been dreaming that I was eating tomatoes, but in the dream I was too full to finish them. Snoop Dogg (who seems to have been attending my dream picnic…) told me that it would be a shame to let such good tomatoes go to waste. I was messily cutting up a tomato with the camping spork when she found me in the kitchen.

I was staying in Crested Butte, CO at a friends cabin when I was 14 or 15 and my home sickness (apparently my father was honorably discharged from the service for the same problem) made me act out my dreams. I had climbed down from the bunk where I was sleeping and started singing the song from “Annie”, “Tomorrow”. I woke up
my friend and the rest of the people in the cabin with my sleepy rendition.

Yes i sleepwalk and worse sleepeat. The only evidence left was a half eaten cherry cheesecake in the fridge…….and cherries on the door knobs and door frames…..and all over my white bed. I yelled at ny kids for making a huge mess………..but i got caught wearing the evidence.
