Giveaway – Win A Copy Of THE SHARK IS STILL WORKING: Limited Edition Original Soundtrack CD

By  |

Michael McCormack, a life-long fan of “JAWS,” is Composer and Co-Producer of “THE SHARK IS STILL WORKING: the Impact and Legacy of Jaws” This original soundtrack includes 38 tracks consisting of new instrumental music and two sea shanties inspired by, and meant to evoke, the impact and legacy of the enduring classic film, JAWS.

Narrated by Chief Martin Brody himself, Roy Scheider, this feature-length documentary focuses squarely on the many ways Jaws has helped to shape these elements of pop culture. In addition, TSISW proudly showcases many of the fans, artists, and craftsmen who keep this film alive, examining some of the creative venues through which they express their passion for the film. It covers the recent events at Jawsfest’05, celebrating the picture’s thirtieth anniversary and highlights Jaws homages and send-ups from pop culture. Interviews with the cast and crew, and prominent filmmakers whose careers have been duly influenced by the movie will give the viewer some insight as to why Jaws has earned a well-deserved place among the greatest classics Hollywood has ever produced. The Shark is Still Working promises to be the ultimate retrospective on Jaws.

Two newly recorded vocal tracks on the CD, “Show Me the Way to Go Home” and “Spanish Ladies” – feature dynamic lead guitar by Nashville-based guitarist/producer Greg Parker with vocals by Michael McCormack. This dynamic CD Soundtrack is available for a limited time at the below links and is sure to be a collector’s item in the near future…

A few “chum” bits that Michael McCormack shared with us about the CD.

  • CD Cover artwork is by TSISW director/producer Erik Hollander.

“I originally started as music composer of the feature, yet over the 7 year production span and our challenges continued to build, I got more and more involved with trying to get the documentary released and ended up with a Co-Producer credit. We are all very very thankful to Universal for saving us and sharing our labor of love.”

  • The documentary, THE SHARK IS STILL WORKING is co-produced with fellow Jaws geeks, Erik Hollander (the director of the feature), J. Michael Roddy, James Gelet and Jake Gove (of jawsmovie.com).

Growing up, Roy Scheider was always my hero and he still is. As I grew up and watched more of his work from the 70s and 80s I realized what a terrific artist he really was, and while we were making the documentary, I made a point to communicate to Roy that he had inspired so many out there to be creative and I enjoyed, not only Jaws, but many of his films in his great body of work.

Just as I told him back in May 2006, this album is dedicated to my favorite actor, Mr. Roy Scheider (1933-2008). I share this dedication with John Williams, Steven Spielberg & the rest of the great cast and crew of the film “Jaws” and the many generations of wonderful fans this timeless, classic film has inspired and entertained.” – Michael McCormack

The soundtrack has 38 tracks featuring original “orchestral” pieces, electronic tracks and two sea shanty songs sung by me with supporting lead guitar by Greg Parker from Nashville, TN.
