Super-8 BORIS KARLOFF Movie Madness This Tuesday Night at The Way Out Club
Boris Karloff is recognized as one of the true icons of horror cinema. Check out our top ten list from last week: TOP TEN TUESDAY – THE BEST OF BORIS KARLOFF HERE. We like to celebrate the great Hollywood Boogie Men at Super-8 Movie Madness and this August’s show is no exception. We’ve had Super-8 VINCENT PRICE Movie Madness and now on Tuesday August 7th at The Way Out Club we’ll be presenting – SUPER-8 BORIS KARLOFF MOVIE MADNESS !!!
That’s right; we’ll be showing condensed (average length: 15 minutes) versions of several of Boris Karloff’s greatest films on Super-8 sound film projected on a big screen. Here’s the Karloff line-up: FRANKENSTEIN, BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, THE MUMMY, THE DEVIL COMMANDS, THE RAVEN (with Bela Lugosi), and ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE. The non-Karloff movies shown August 7th are: THE DEADLY MANTIS, AIRPORT ’79 THE CONCORDE, ANIMAL HOUSE, The Little Rascals in CANNED FISHING, THE SUB-MARINER (the ’60s Cartoon), Shirley Temple in the politically incorrect Baby Burlesque short KID ‘N AFRICA, and the STAR TREK Blooper Reel.
Cover charge is a mere $3.00 and the show begins at 8pm. We’ll have Boris Karloff trivia with prizes, and, as usual, there will be lots of posters and T-Shirts and stuff given away. The Way Out Club is located at 2525 Jefferson Avenue in South St. Louis (corner of Jefferson and Gravois). There are yummy Way-Out pizzas available for only $8.00.
