Okay, okay, okay…

Joe Pesci, who  first really  hit the radar for his award-winning supporting performance  in Raging Bull(1980), had what seemed to be alot of steam in the late-80’s through the 90’s with  mid-level roles in films such as Lethal Weapon(2-4), Casino, JFK, My Cousin Vinny,  Home Alone(1&2), and  some of his  most notable  work in Goodfellas, which gave  him an Oscar.  Joe Pesci, 65, after completing Lethal Weapon 4 in 1998 went MIA to the movie world until resurfacing in Robert De Niro directed  The Good Shepherd(2006) Starring: De Niro, Matt Damon, and Angelina Jolie.

Not much is known about one our favorite wiseguys’ eight year  sabbatical. However, this is an interview from 1991: “I had a lot of trouble getting work for a long time. People were afraid of me because I was the kind of person who told them to go fuck themselves. And they don’t want anyone to offer any resistance. After ‘Raging Bull,’ they wanted me to play neighborhood-type Italian stupes. And I didn’t want to play that. And people just come at you from all angles, just ripping at you and clawing at you to get a piece of your success. I made a few pictures. But they were so few and far between that I always used the money and burnt it up and was always broke and borrowing money. I played golf every day to keep my sanity. I couldn’t get an agent. I couldn’t get a job. My methods of working were nowhere to everyone. Whatever I did as an actor, nobody seemed to appreciate. And then all of a sudden, everybody appreciated it. It’s very strange to me.”Joe Pesci in New York, March 4, 1991.

The Filming for Love Ranch(2009) has begun. In this Taylor Hackford(Ray)Directed story based on the INFAMOUS “Bunny Ranch” in Nevada. Pesci is Charlie Botempo, Husband to Grace played by Helen Mirren(The Queen) as they open the first legal brothel. Scout Taylor-Compton(Halloween)& Taryn  Manning(Hustle & Flow) will I’m sure be good eye candy in this one. Joe Pesci isn’t done yet. Okay, okay…but I am.
